- Resumen
-
This study was supported by Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (grants PD I108, PD I087, PD I112); ANPCyT (PICT-2017-4208); and FAO-IAEA (CRP D3.10.30).
The dataset consists of records from 2600 Holstein cows from three private farms in the central dairy area of Argentina with different breeding objectives and phenotypic records taken over different seasons, periods, and lactations. It was used to assess the influence of A1-like and A2-like β-casein variants on production traits through a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). Pairwise comparisons among genotypes were carried out according to Tukey’s comparison test (using a significance level of 0.05). We are uploading a file with the genotypic and phenotypic information used for the study, in which column 1 indicates the farm; column 2 the ID of the cow; column 3 the CSN2 genotype (where A1 stands for A1-like and A2 stands for A2-like variants); columns 4, 5, and 6 the estimated breeding values for milk, fat, and protein yields (kg); and columns 7 and 8 the estimated breeding values for fat and protein content (percentages). The animals from the different farms were not connected.
