The files include: (i) the list of fern species incorporated into the phylogenetic framework, (ii) geographic and climatic variables associated with a 1-km\u00b2 grid covering the study area, and (iii\u2013iv) grid-cell estimates of phylogenetic diversity and phylogenetic species variability derived from the phylogenetic tree and reconstructed species distributions. The phylogenetic framework is based on a dated, time-calibrated fern phylogeny, with missing taxa incorporated using a standardized phylogenetic insertion approach.
